Sailing into the Future

We all know that the world of 2017 is radically different from the world many of us grew up in – and the pace of change seems to accelerate every year. While it was once assembly line jobs that were at risk from technological advances, it is now all professions that seem threatened by the onset of artificial intelligence. And the world of education is not immune to such changes. Human contact will always be at the centre of what we do but technology and changing ideas are a constant challenge. It was with this in mind, that Rosey teachers spent three days on the Rhône, taking over a river cruise boat to discuss and consider how we can change teaching methods and approaches – the how and what our students learn.

It was an intense but good-humoured experience, bringing staff together in a unique and beautiful setting but with a very serious purpose, generating real excitement about what is, after all, an inspiring and privileged profession.
