Summer Music Festival

A busy term in the Music Department came to fruition during the Summer Music Festival, offering a total of almost ten hours of music over three days from soloists and groups as well as an evening dedicated to the Kelly Tchen Piano Challenge. Performances featured some of Roseans new ensembles, including the new Cadet Wind Band, the Cadet Guitar Group and the Class 3 Camerata as well as the Jazz Band and A Cappella. The Junior concert saw many young soloists taking to the Rosey Concert Hall stage for the first time and offered a captivating afternoon listening to Junior Choir, the Junior Band, Junior Strings and three class Orff Groups. To conclude the week’s series of musical events, our rock groups set up their outdoor stage in the Amphitheatre for a truly atmospheric informal concert. Thirteen bands performed an extremely varied programme of music representing each decade of popular music from the 50s to the present day and the cheering and applause was testament to Roseans’ talent and hard work during both the term and this particularly musical week.
