Poetry Alive

Poetry Alive is a much-loved event at Rosey, where Roséens and students from Swiss international schools recite a poem of their choice for the competition. Contestants had the opportunity to learn a poem by heart, find the courage to perform in front of a discerning audience, and master the art of projecting ideas and voice. These skills will undoubtedly serve them well in years to come.

Beyond the recitals’ impeccable quality, the contestants’ diverse selection of classic and modern poems impressed judges. Dr. Edward Clarke, a lecturer at Oxford University, praised Poetry Alive for reinvigorating poetry by taking it out of the classroom and into the voices of young people.
