Dr Edward Clarke, lecturer in Literature at Oxford University, joined Roséens as guest speaker and judge for Poetry Alive, leading sessions and chairing a round table on questions central to the study of literature: why centuries-old poems retain their immediacy, what poetry can achieve that other forms cannot, and how literature functions in periods of instability.
