The Rosey Races: a Reason to Spend Winter in the Mountains

There aren’t that many ski races in Swiss with more than 700 at the starting gates. All Roséens, from members of the ski team to those who were beginners in January, set off down the mountain with just a touch of nervousness perhaps and the hope that they might win a medal.  Parents and a number of Anciens Roséens also fought it out for their own trophies.

The day finished on a nostalgic note with the final prize-giving ceremony at the top of the Rellerli followed by a torchlit descent en masse. Next year, the Rellerli ski lift will be dismantled so it was a fitting final curtain for a mountain which has hosted Roséens for decades and witnessed dozens of prize-giving ceremonies.
