Perhaps it really was that mention of Le Rosey rugby in The Silkworm, J K Rowling’s second Cormoran Strike novel, but the sport continues to thrive and there was another brilliant day for the rugby club at the ZIS invitational sevens! The U16s faced tough opposition throughout but fought hard and made massive progress, especially with wins in their last two games to finish 5th overall. The 1st team emerged top of their group and unbeaten after their first three games. In the semi-final the “lads” proved far too strong for La Chât with a 40-0 win. In the final, a composed and experienced ZIS team were a hurdle too far but the team still fought to the final whistle going down 20-10. It was a great day out for the club and it was fantastic to see the strong team spirit and a high quality of rugby on display.
