MUN Trip to Athens

Le Rosey’s Model United Nations students got an opportunity to debate in the birthplace of democracy this term with their visit to Athens.

The 22 students travelled to Campion School to embark on a two-day conference which saw them pitting their diplomatic wits against students from Greece and all around Europe.

All performed with great credit with some attending their first conference, others their fifth. It was a valuable learning experience with topics discussed, debated and resolutions passed including the combatting of the dark web, closing the wage gap, ending human trafficking, improving health care in war zones and many more. There was also a Historical Committee covering the My Lai massacre.

The trip included enjoying lots of delicious traditional Greek food and a memorable trip around the Parthenon and its museum.

Well done to all students who worked very hard both in advance and during the conference. Special thanks to Ms Marcenaro, Mrs Pearcy and Mr Travers for taking the trip.
