A special appearance for Cecilia Bartoli at Rosey Concert Hall

Le Rosey may move to Gstaad in the winter but artistic life continues at the Rosey Concert Hall in Rolle, and many from Rosey braved the cold and ice to travel down to see an outstanding IMMA concert on Tuesday 22nd January. Led and conducted by its charismatic “Musical Ambassador”, Maxim Vengerov, perhaps the world’s leading violinist, the fifteen young musicians that make up the International Menuhin Music Academy, Rosey’s resident orchestra, played pieces by Shostakovitch, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky and accompanied mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli in a special appearance to help IMMA in its grand Gala Concert. The quality of the music making did full justice to the Rosey Concert Hall acoustic and finished with a memorable performance of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and a Bartok encore.
