Super Trophée 23/53 Breithorn ski-touring

The second of our Super Trophée 23/53 challenges took a team of 6 students ski-touring and climbing up the Breithorn in Zermatt to break an altitude of 4000m. Though the conditions were less than favourable with high winds not permitting access right up to the peak, students climbed a 300m vertical ascent on skis and crampons to reach 4032m altitude, followed by a 14km on-piste descent. We were accompanied by the same mountain guides as for the preparation excursion of 9km to Sommet de La Palette earlier in the term, which formed a cohesive team with fantastic results.
