Amazing girls

What amazing girls!  The ChaCha team has succeeded in its challenge of a return swim across the English Channel to raise funds for victims of obstetric fistula in Ghana — young women who they have met on Rosey Humanitarian trips.  Bravo Ludmilla and Thoedosia! And well done their friends.  They have shown courage, determination and been true to Roseys’ motto in the most extraordinary way:  Actis Virtus — only your actions show what you are.  We are incredibly proud of them. And their feat was not without its dangers as their own words in a recent article show:

“Just three weeks ago the ChaCha Team relay swam across the Channel. We spent weeks in Dover training for the crossing, met many Channel swimmers and quickly realised that crossing the Channel can be so much more dangerous that we had first thought. The cold, the jellyfish, the exhaustion, the ships, the waves, the currents, the weather; all of these factors make Channel swimming an extremely perilous challenge.

Yesterday an incredible endurance athlete named Nick Thomas died while attempting to cross the English Channel. He was only 1 mile off the French coast. Our prayers go out to his friends and family.”
