Service Learning – Helping farmers in the Jura

During Special Week as part of their Service Learning, a group of motivated Cadets joined a mountain farmer to assist him with the transport of park stakes and landscaping, whilst also discovering his local produce and understanding his daily life. Crossing terrain that is impassable to motor vehicles, with the help of two mules Roseans transported park stakes to a pasture located several hundreds of metres above their departure point. Later, the group was tasked with clearing a sloping meadow covered with stones, sometimes required to push larger stones down the slope and work together to achieve the desired result. Roseans also learned about the local cheeses produced by the farmer and concluded their day with a tasting of the mountain produce.
